Area Name: The Falls
Region: Maguuma Jungle
General Description: The Falls is the name of an explorable area
in the southwest of the Maguuma Jungle. The area is named so
because of the great falls that can be found deep within it. The
area is an incomplete circle that starts in the northeastern corner
and goes around clockwise to end back north. On the western and
eastern sides of the area two great falls can be found (points 2
and 3 on the map). The unique items Totem Axe and Forgotten Fan can be obtained here from
Root
Behemoths and Wind Riders respectively, further adding to the
allure of this remote area.

Statue of Balthazar (click to enlarge).
- Statue
of Balthazar:
southwestern corner (point 1 on the map). The statue is one of the
most attractive locations to visit in the game, and a tour of the
statue and falls is a worthy endeavor. Even though it is a Statue
of Balthazar and is encased within a rather large temple, you
cannot enter The Fissure of Woe (Which would be a bad
idea anyway, as you only can have 6 party members). The structure
suggests it is a temple of Balthazar. Another "temple" can be found
in Lornar's
Pass. This type of structure can only be found in two other
places; Hero's Ascent on The Battle
Isles and the bridge to the Gate of Secrets in the Domain of
Secrets.

- To receive credit for the Vanquisher title track in this area you must
defeat 296-303 monsters in Hard Mode.
