- "All you have to do is study the skills, your opponents, either
other players or mobs, and use your imagination" (by Gares). So
there is really no need for new builds, people will figure it out
on their own. If they can't, then they must obviously lack
imagination. NightAngel 13:46, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- Judging from the way you are posting this on every build, and
from the comments on your talk page, this would appear to be
something of a knowingly-ironic vote. I'm dissapointed you can't
find a more constructive way of making your argument heard. -- Karalin
(talk|contribs) 15:27, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- And what difference could it possibly make? The wise people of
this wiki have decided, apparently, that the entire build section
should be deleted, so what's the point??? Might as well stop
wasting our times, right? NightAngel 15:42, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- I've already had 2 good suggestions for improving the build
since posting it here. Certainly wasn't a waste of my time. -- Karalin
(talk|contribs) 15:44, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- I didn't think so either, but the consensus is that we are all
noobs and our opinions don't matter. So maybe this should be moved
somewhere else, right? Wiki isn't the place for noobs to exchange
crappy ideas, it just makes it all ugly. I don't see how you could
possible care if this is unfavored or favored, they're all going to
the same place - the trash NightAngel 15:45, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- Perhaps, (although I don't know anyone who thinks I'm a
noob...) but, Karalin is right about one thing at least... even if
the build section is being wiped, being constructive is still
more... well constructive than your tirades. Constructive criticism
still helps the author of the page at the very least. When you post
on constructive criticism on a build, assuming the author listens,
you have at the very least helped one person. There, you
accomplished something. Defiant

- I'm not stopping anyone from adding something really
constructive. Heck, I see Skuld below has actually suggested
something which helped the author. THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN
ANYMORE. You know why Karalin is annoyed at my vote? Because when
this is unfavored, less people will get to see it and contribute.
Right? What about when the entire section vanishes and Karalin
posts this on her own userpage. How many people will see it then???
NightAngel 15:54, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- Sigh.... *decides it is no longer worth arguing with NightAngel* Defiant Elements (talk ~ contribs) 15:56, 29 March 2007 (CDT)
- Hey, I'll tell you what I am annoyed about; you putting
words into my mouth! The reason I commented on your vote (and
nowhere does it say I'm annoyed), is not because you voted
unfavored, but because you voted unfavored with an unhelpful
comment. And besides, who doesn't like favour? (pun intended)-- Karalin

- I think it works very well. On my first try I got one. To get to The Falls was no problems at all. In there I reached the Root Behemoths quite easy too. I must work on the Wind Riders though.. AlpHaz 16:48, 25 April 2007 (CDT)

- C'mon? Immolate???? No way!Dark0805
12:24, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
- Hi, I've chosen Immolate because it's cheap, pretty spammable, does
not require LOS, causes burning and damage. It's a
surprisingly effective skill when facing lower level mobs. I'm open
to other suggestions, particularly ones that have worked well for
others in this particular environment. -- Karalin (talk) 15:23, 16 April 2007

- "Lower Level Mobs" I'll let that mistep go unnoticed. But
seriously, just do another PBAoE spell. Much better. But regardless this build is
hardly original.Dark0805
19:24, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
- Sorry, but the mobs in Maguuma are sub level 20, thats lower level in my opinion. And another PBAoE is not effective against Root Behemoths, which are handier to take on from a distance to avoid spawning Life Pods. Also, little else has as quick a recharge and as low an energy cost. As to originality, sure, it's a variation on any old Obsidian Flesh farming build, but there are warrior and ranger builds specifically for farming Totem Axes, and no other E/D builds on wiki utilising fire skills. -- Karalin (talk) 17:37, 19 April 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Discussion
This looks like it's coming along well. I don't even know how I got here, though. Spen 17:14, 27 March 2007 (CDT)
- Heh thanks. I dunno how you got here either - recent changes
maybe? I'll be moving the build to stubs or untested once I'm
properly finished with it here. I prefer having it in my own
namespace till I'm ready for others to edit/test it. -- Karalin

Switch Troll Unguent for Mystic Regeneration — Skuld 10:15, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
- Oooh good call. I'll try that. Only possible problem is that
you can't use it while, or prior to, escaping Wind Riders. -- Karalin
(talk|contribs) 10:19, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
- So, I just tried this. It sure makes the run easier, Maguuma
Spiders are laughable now, but it's harder when fighting Skale and
so on because you need more energy for healing. Not just the 5
extra energy for casting Mystic Regeneration, but if your enchants
are expired, thats at least another 20 energy needed to get 6 pips
of health regen. I'll try some more tonight, I was being a little
reckless just now. -- Karalin

- Added that to Variants. Bug
- YES! That works brilliantly, casting is obviously a more
frequent occurence, but you can tank just about everything, I'm
going to do one more run with GoLE and Mystic Regen before updating
the build itself. Great suggestions Skuld. I think this is faster
than he warrior build. -- Karalin

- I'll give it a whirl when I get time, I started my ele again in elona, and i've only done elona, cantha, and the end missions of tyria, need to get to the maguuma ^^ — Skuld 15:49, 29 March 2007 (CDT)

Why /R? Do E/D and put 8 in Earth Prayers instead of 10
Wilderness and get Mystic Regeneration, as you have 3-4
enchantments and you get a lot of regen. -

I was wondering if having a totem axe on you during the run lowers the droprate of the totem axes--Abbadons minion 17:42, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
- I've never done any research, but this would not be the case by my own (admittedly small sample size) anecdotal evidence. I regularly had 2 or more drop when I did the run, usually with a Totem Axe. I don't believe that possessing or even having had one green drop for you has any effect on whether it drops again. People farm the same desirable greens repeatedly over and over again, after all. -- Karalin (talk) 05:30, 23 April 2007 (CDT)
I would prefer replacing Glyph of Lesser Energy with Fire Attunement for better energy management and sliver armor with a spammable fire spell like Lava Arrows. Since you're gonna have like 4 enchantments (mystic itself counts as one) and mystic have +3 regen with 8 earth prayers and you're gonna have +12 health regen (+7 under conjure).--Dark Paladin X 15:10, 23 April 2007 (CDT)
- I don't think you'll get enough energy with Fire attunement, you can only use it on half your skill bar, some of which have long recharge times. It's probably worth a try though. I don't understand what you're getting at about Mystic Regeneration - there are 4 enchantments here already, and where does 'conjure' come into it? Sliver Armor is also a great skill for running through the Spiders - a lot of their Pin Downs and poisoned shots miss, which makes things faster. There's potentially a place for another spammable fire spell, but I don't think Lava Arrows is a good fit. Immolate is nearly spammable anyway. -- Karalin (talk) 16:20, 23 April 2007 (CDT)
Conjure phantasm from the wind riders probably... but shouldn't
obsidian block that... but w/e... --frvwfr2

i was wondering how you are supposed to kill the wind riders without dieing because whenever i try i may kill 1 or 2 but as soon as obsidan is off of me i die because the pbaoe doesnt always work on everyone and sliver get disenchanted the second im not protected is it just because im a noob?--Abbadons minion 18:58, 26 April 2007 (CDT)
- Once Obsidian Flesh has run out, you can either run away, or try to exhaust your foes' supply of interrupts before recasting Obsidian Flesh. It's easier to go for the former option here. You can't really tank them. Once two are down, run away. Because you'll have triggered Flame Djinn's Haste for its PBAoE, you should have a speed boost, though it may well get stripped once Obs Flesh is off. The Wind Riders will follow you quite a way, but keep running back the way you came, and as soon as you lose aggro, recast your enchants. Contact me in game if you want a hand. ign Karalin Taucher. I've not tried this since the Hard Mode update (which did alter how mobs behave in normal mode, though it should be for the better with this build). -- Karalin (talk) 04:41, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
ive done 2 runs here and gotten zip for drops, any drop rates?--Malevolent 23:27, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
