The Master of Disruption uses the Mesmer's Interrupt Spells to interrupt foe's spells. It also makes the use of the Mesmer's Distortion skill in the Illusion Magic line to defend against foes.

  • An Elementalist or Necromancer would be a very easy target to interrupt and use Power Block on, since they usually have all spells of the same attribute. After you have interrupted a caster with Power Block, move on to another caster, and continue to use your other interrupt skills on them.
  • You might need some practice to interrupt healing monks, and protection monks. When going against boon prots, the only spells you should try to interrupt are Guardian, Mantra of Recall, and maybe Mend Ailment. Mend Ailment might be a bit harder to interrupt since it is a 3/4 cast spell. Do not try to interrupt the Boon Prot's Reversal of Fortune because it will most likely fail.
  • Use Distortion when Warriors, Assassins, and Rangers are attacking you.

  • Do not try to interrupt a caster while they are running, because this will cause the interrupt spell to have a delay in it, since you will have to run up to the caster before interrupting. This could maybe be countered taking the wand off or equipping a +5 energy melee weapon to come closer to the for you are trying to interrupt.
  • If you don't get off Power Drain, you might face some energy problems for a while.
  • Don't try to interrupt 1 second cast spells unless you know that you can get off the interrupt.

[edit] Variants

Use these spells to help you interrupt when you are just starting out with this build. Arcane Conundrum would probably be the best choice, since you can use Power Block. This would also be good for fast casting spells such as Protection Spells, and Fast Casting Spikers.
You can also use this spell for extra energy management and Energy Denial instead of Power Block.
