This page is an effort to make the task of keeping the builds section up to date easier by improving coordination and reducing redundancy.

[edit] What is the issue at hand?
As everyone has noticed, the Category:Untested builds is flooded with new entries. This does not only mean lots of new builds need to be tested, but also lots of builds need to be moved to the correct category, lots of articles corrected to adhere to GuildWiki:Style and formatting/Builds, lots of general checking needs to be done to make sure the process works. Not to long ago, this could be done by a single determined person, but the days when one or two editors could check all new builds are definitely over.
[edit] What is this about?
To make the task of checking builds less daunting and to avoid having many people do redundant work, I propose to organise the way we work with new builds. More precisely, I hope for people who are checking new build entries to coordinate such that every new build entry gets checked by one or two persons for sure, instead of it being a gamble where sometimes ten people check the same build, while at other times noone does.
The simplest way for me to do this seems to be to split builds along profession lines and have a group of editors willing to check all builds of one profession.
[edit] What is needed?
I am looking for people who are willing to choose one profession and keep a close track on builds of that primary profession. That includes checking new articles for wrong use of categories, putting up rate-a-build sections, moveing them once enough votes are there, checking unfavored builds for complete remodelling (and then moving the build back to untested), all the "administrative-like" functions which are needed to keep the builds section working.
That does not imply that you have to test all new builds in that profession. Of course everyone is still free to test as little or as much as wanted (in any profession). This is just about splitting all those "go through builds and check for xxx" tasks, such that noone is overburdened with them, but still every build gets looked at.
[edit] Who is needed?
I hope for one or two editors per profession. Ideally you:
- have already contributed to builds in the past
- know how the builds process currently works
- are willing to keep up to date with pages like GuildWiki:Builds, Talk:Builds and GuildWiki:Build vetting procedure
[edit] What is in it?
Unfortunatly not much. Apart from the good feeling that you are doing something to help the builds section continue growing on this wiki.
