Skill
Trainers:
- Use Glyph of Concentration to prevent the
highly likely event that the spell will be interrupted due to its
long cast time.
- Use Arcane
Echo (if you are a Mesmer) for double casting. Also consider using Glyph of
Sacrifice on the echoed Shower. It will not take an extra 30
seconds to recharge since Arcane Echo will change back to its
regular state after 20 seconds. Beware of exhaustion though.
- Water hexes that slow multiple foes (Deep Freeze, Frozen Burst and Ice Spikes) are very
useful in conjunction with Meteor Shower, as they don't get away
from the area and get hit and knocked-down. Meteor Shower is also
useful in conjunction with Barbed Trap or Snare.
- Meteor Shower's animation lasts 12 seconds, but only inflicts
damage and knockdown on the third, sixth and ninth seconds.
- Immediately after casting Meteor Shower, follow up with a 2
second cast skill to cause a spike on the first hit of Meteor
Shower. Or, use Incendiary Bonds and then a 2 second cast
time for a larger spike on the second hit.
[edit] Trivia
- The skill's icon is possibly a homage to Missile Command, a classic video game where
the protagonist had to defend cities under attack by ICBMs, MIRVs,
bombers and satellites. The "Game Over" sequence (on some versions)
would feature the remains of the player's obliterated cities and
his command center destroyed in a final apocalyptic volley of
missiles very similar to this icon.
