This build is not favored by the
GuildWiki community.
The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this
build is not viable.

Description: The RAr Tank (Reactive Armor) is designed to
replace an Axe or Sword Tanker by usage of Ether Feast instead of
Healing Signet, to avoid the -40 armor loss. A hammer user has 16
less armor due to lack of a shield, so this build also uses the
skill Dolyak Signet to provide supplementary armor level as
needed.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Gladiator's Armor and Heavy Hammer of Defense 15>50 for
greater damage (for an attack role)
- Dreadnought's armor and Heavy Hammer of
Defense +5 energy for "tanking"
- You don't have 13 points of Strength for Sentinel's
Armor, which has a universal 100 armor. You CAN get 13 strength
if you were to use a superior strength rune, but keep the -75
Health in mind. Platemail/Dreadnought's has 90 universal and 100
against physical.
- Irresistible Blow is used to build up adrenaline for
Devastating Hammer. It doubles as knockdown when you have a target
that uses blocking stances or enchantments such as Guardian, Critical
Defenses, Flashing Blades, Sliver Armor, Shield
Guardian, Aegis, Weapon of
Warding, Gladiator's Defense, etc.
- Devastating Hammer is just about the only knockdown skill that
does not lose all adrenaline or cause exhaustion. The bonus is it
provides a weakness condition, reducing damage to you from melee
type mobs.
- Belly Smash is a skill that blinds all adjacent foes when the
target is knocked down.
- This should be used to your advantage as you would not need an
elementalist with Blinding Flash or Wards for melee defense.
- Mantra of Inscriptions should be used when getting into a
"tanking" position (taking mass damage from mobs). It allows for
roughly a 40% reduction in recharge of Dolyak Signet.
- Dolyak Signet is your "tanking" skill. It boosts your armor up
by 30 or so. It also prevents knock downs, thereby reducing
effectiveness of hammer warriors as well as earth based
elementalists (Jade Brotherhood Mages for example).
- Use only when under fire (react to the situation), since you
move 75% slower under the effects of the skill.
- Ether Feast is used as a self heal when fighting. It should be
used on casters since casters usually have 3 energy to be drained.
If 3 energy is not drained you will not be healed the full 99
points.
- Resurrection Signet is your resurrection skill. Use it
stingently as it only recharges when a boss dies.
[edit] Optionals:
- Inspired Hex is used to remove a hex that is damaging (such as
Spiteful
Spirit, Empathy, Soothing
Images, Faintheartedness, etc.) It gives a net gain
in energy so that is why this should a good skill to put in your
optional slot.
- Crushing Blow is used after a successful Devastating Hammer to
induce a Deep Wound on the target.Keep in mind it is generally
believed that deep wound is an axe specialty and axes are more
effective at inducing it, via Dismember, Eviscerate, and Swift Chop.
- Auspicious Blow is used after a successful Devastating Hammer
(not immediately after but as long as the target has weakness) to
gain energy, in addition to giving a bonus damage.
- Leviathan's Sweep is to help with evasion and is also a good
adrenaline builder. It gives knockdown when evaded.
- Signet of Strength boosts a number of subsequent attacks'
damage by +5.
- Keep in mind this +5 damage is NOT reduced by armor as it is a
damage shift. Attack skills' bonus damage is not reduced by armor.
Refer to Damage for more
information on this.
[edit] Counters
[edit] Variants
- Mantra of Inscriptions is used to provide continual upkeep of
Dolyak Signet.
- Strength gives 1% armor penetration per level, meaning this has
an inherent 11% armor penetration.
- 14 hammer is the breakpoint for Belly Smash to blind for 10
seconds.
- 8 Inspiration Magic gives Ether Feast the same potency as a 100
point heal from Healing Signet, with the added bonus that it
doesn't reduce armor AND denies 3 energy from a foe.
- This build was inspired by the Wardens' incessant knocking down
of Danika, the healer
henchman while journeying in Echovald Forest.
- Leviathan name comes from the hard to kill beast that does
quite a bit of damage in the Deep.
- This is BY NO MEANS A PVP BUILD. Do not use this in PvP or you
will be declared an utter fool.
- For PvP: Elemental Resistance and ought to be
used instead of Dolyak Signet in PvP where Warriors are seldom the
target of physical attacks. Signet of Humility should be used in
the optional slot, as a way to disable elite skills continously (at
least under Mantra of Inscriptions).
