- One of the vital protection spells in the Protection
Prayers line. Unlike Guardian, Aegis affects all party members in the
area range (visible on the mini radar). The drawback to this is
that it takes much longer to recharge.
- Aegis is possibly the most valuable protection spell you can
carry in an eight person party. The long recharge time is often
helped with a 20/20 protection item; given the frequency with which
you'll be casting this, the 20% should kick in fairly often.
- Combined with Blessed Aura, a weapon of Enchanting, and
Glyph of
Renewal, Aegis can be maintained indefinitely.

- This skill may be named for the shield of Zeus, in the works of Homer. It may also simply be a usage of the
word "aegis," although this word can be traced back to Homer's
works.
