The Infinite Combo Assassin uses the Ranger primary attribute of Expertise to significantly
reduce the energy costs of his Assassin attacks. Combined with a zealous dagger mod, this allows the Infinite Combo
Assassin to spam Assassin combo attacks endlessly for a net
cost of 0 energy.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- A zealous dagger is
necesary for this build to work efficiently. A very good weapon
choice is Ungues of the Oni, as the -5 energy penalty
for guaranteed +15% damage is not problematic.
- Explorer's Armor is especially nice for the
health bonus, as you'll be in melee combat all the time.
- Sentry's Armor is also useful for the +10AL,
since you should be in the Flashing Blades stance almost constanly.
- If your target is far enough from his allies, start with Jagged Strike
-> Wild
Strike -> Horns of the Ox to knock him down, and then
continue with Jagged Strike -> Wild Strike -> Death Blossom.
- For targets that are not alone, do the Death Blossom finisher
first for extra damage on adjacent foes.
- Activate Way of the Fox if your opponent uses a
defensive stance, so that
Jagged Strike and Wild Strike will connect, removing the
stance.
- Activate Flashing Blades as you enter battle and
reactivate it every time it becomes ready. This can be kept up
almost constantly at 12 Dagger Mastery for little cost (5 energy every
20 seconds), and with Sentry's Armor you'll have +10 AL almost all
the time.
- If your health starts dipping too low, activate Shadow Refuge for
some self healing to take pressure off your monks.
[edit] Counters
- Anti-spam counters like Spirit Shackles, or a Diversion on your Jagged
Strike or Wild Strike can shut down this build quite
effectively.
- Empathy and/or Spiteful Spirit
[edit] Variants
The strength of this build comes from 13 points in Expertise reducing the
costs of your combo attacks to just 2 energy each. With a zealous dagger, each single
attack skill that hits costs you a net of 1 energy, and Dual Attacks are
effectively free. Since it takes 1 second to activate each combo
skill, and you'll have 2 energy regen (due to the zealous mod taking 1 away
from a Ranger's natural 3), even if you activate each skill
consecutively, it results in a net energy loss of 0.
