This build is not favored by the
GuildWiki community.
The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this
build is not viable.
This build was voted unfavored for the following reasons:
- Many useless skills.
- Bad elite choice.

The Deflector Protector is a Protection Prayers build that
lengthens Shield of Deflection to make it more workable as a form
of protection. It acts as a damage limiter for all sources of spike
damage , as long as it is not lifestealing.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Acolyte's Armor for the +10 armor while
enchanted or Ascetic's Armor for energy
- +5 energy sword or axe of Enchanting +20% and 20/20 Protection
focus
- 20/20 Protection wand and 20/20 Inspiration Focus
- 20/20 Protection wand and No requirement Shield (such as the Peppermint
Shield) for Rebirth-ing
- Cast Blessed Aura and maintain it unless it is consistently
being removed, it increases duration of your enchantments by
28%.
- Reversal of Fortune is your general heal skill. Remember that
certain skills like Shroud of Silence and Shadow Shroud prevent
spell casts.
- Shield of Deflection is used as a buff to caster allies in the
event of an attack by physical damage dealers. It gives them the
evasion and armor level boost to survive.
- Certain attacks (numerous such as Wild Blow, Seeking Arrows) and hexes (Rigor Mortis) nullify
evasion but only Weaken Armor and Shadowy Burden decrease armor
level.
- Protective Spirit is used when there are mobs that do high
damage which either ignores armor (such as Overload, Ancestors' Rage, or Destruction but not
lifestealing such as Vampiric Gaze) or just does high damage in
general (Lightning Hammer from Canthan Bosses for
example).
- Inspired Hex nets you 6 energy when you remove a hex. It is
your only hex removal unless you choose to bring its sibling, Revealed
Hex.
- Mend Ailment is a way to remove conditions.
- Rebirth is a resurrect skill. Switch to Rod/Shield combination
when ressing so you have energy remaining after ressing.
[edit] Optionals
- Revealed Hex nets you 6 energy when you remove a hex.
- Drain Enchantment nets you 8 energy when you remove an
enchantment.
- Channeling nets you 1 energy per foe in the area.
[edit] Counters
- Enchantment removal
- Energy denial
- Degeneration hexes/ condition spam
[edit] Variants
- Shield
Guardian instead of Protective Spirit when you know there will
be all physical damage.
- Notice that Shield of Deflection gives and evade chance, not a
block chance. This is advantageous since most skills that trigger
on block (such as Splinter Shot, Griffon's
Sweep, Irresistible Blow, Swift Chop, Glass Arrows) will
have less effect. Seeking Blade will cause bleeding,
however.
- 15 Protection yields 75% evade and 30AL while 16 Protection
yields 77% chance and 31AL so that is why it was decided that you
are better off with more inspiration magic, as a way to get back
energy.
