- Superior Vigor Rune.
- Either a Rune of Restoration or a Rune of Purity
- Hale PVP Inscribed Staff of Defense.
[edit] Usage
Usage differs depending on the opponent you are facing:
Assassins & Warriors: - Often target mesmers first so these are a high priority, after monks and other damage dealing casters.
- Lead with Empathy to discourage them damaging you - 47 dmg per attack for 16 secs
- Follow with Chaos Storm to force them to move back - 15 damage per second for 10 secs & -7nrg per spell they use.
- Use the damage skills,Energy Surge - 80 damage, Unnatural Signet - 79 damage, Spiritual Pain - 109 damage.
- Wastrel's Demise - 32 + 7 damage for every spell he has equipped.
- Use Wastrel's Worry if they flee or refuse to attack.
Elementalists:
- Lead with Backfire to stop them casting.
- Use Wastrel's worry if they do not cast through backfire.
- Attack with the main damage dealing skills.
- Use Wastrel's demise whenever it is recharged.
Mesmer:
- Lead with Backfire to stop them casting.
- Use Wastrel's worry if they do not cast through backfire.
- Attack with the main damage dealing skills.
- Use Wastrel's demise whenever it is recharged.
Monk:
- Lead with Backfire to stop them casting or use Chaos storm to either drain their energy or force them to move.
- Use Wastrel's worry if they do not cast through backfire.
- Attack with the main damage dealing skills.
- Use Wastrel's demise whenever it is recharged.
A good monk should be able to survive but will heal their team less while you are attacking them, allowing your team access to easy kills.
Ritualist:
- Lead with Backfire to stop them casting.
- Use Wastrel's worry if they do not cast through backfire.
- Attack with the main damage dealing skills.
- Use Wastrel's demise whenever it is recharged.
- Against spirit spammers alternate between spiritual pain and unnatural signet to destroy spirits.
Ranger & Paragon:
- Lead with empathy.
- Use the standard sequence to deal damage.
- Use wastrel's worry if they flee.
Dervish:
- Lead with both backfire and empathy.
- Use the standard sequence to deal damage.
- Use Wastrel's demise whenever it is recharged.
Your primary targets should be enemy casters, but use empathy to discourage opposing melee characters attacking your party.
[edit] Counters
- Interruption
- Anti-caster hexes
- Energy denial
[edit] Variants
- Swap out Wastrel's Worry with Ether Feast for self-healing.
- Stolen Speed as your elite and Energy Burn in place of Wastrel's Worry is also an option.
- Subsitute Wastrel's Worry for a Resurrection Signet if you need for pvp/ha/ta/ra.
[edit] Notes
- No self-healing means monk support is required.
- High energy cost skills are used repeatedly so energy must be carefully maintained.
