Image:Red thumbs down.png This build is not favored by the GuildWiki community.

The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this build is not viable.

This build was voted unfavored for the following reasons:

  • Protective bond is a broken skill, needing more energy than even Ether Prodigy can provide

Contents

This build combines the powerful damage reducing bond spells and the Elementalist's naturally high energy bar and powerful energy gaining spells. This build is mostly useful in PvP, where damage comes from high spikes and not multiple sources like in PvE.

[edit] Equipment

Preferably a wand with the +5 energy mod and a perfect artifact (energy +12) for maximum energy, or an Insightful staff of Enchanting (Galigord's Stone Staff for example).

[edit] Usage

Bond all players with Protective Bond, enter combat and use Aegis. Protective Bond reduces the max damage of all players up to 5% of their max health, which is around 25. Next, the bond will want 4 energy points each time it absorbs damage, fortunately Elementalists have a very large energy bar and Aegis is there to reduce the high spike damage . When it runs low, cast Ether Prodigy to start regenerating it at a rate of three pips (in a party of eight). Reversal of Fortune and Shielding Hands can be used to protect allies under heavy fire. The latter spell is also useful when kiting or taking damage. Finally, Heal area combined with Aura of Restoration will give 100 hp back when necessary.

Note : A healing monk is necessary, since the only healing in this build is self-heal.

This build uses Life Bond instead of Protective Bond. As a result, you will suffer less Energy loss and more Health loss, which can still be healed with a quick Heal Area. All the other spells are to be used as above.

[edit] Counters

Mesmer Energy draining and enchantment removal spells will quickly put an end to this build, as with all bond builds, as will interrupting Ether Prodigy.
