The Aggressionist is a High DPS Assassin which uses Burst of Aggression as an IAS to chain off assassin attacks in incredible speed causing a almost solo spike like effect.
[edit] Attributes and Skills

Attribute Rank |
---|---|
Dagger Mastery | 12 + 1 + 3 |
Critical Strikes | 12 + 1 |
Deadly Arts | 3 + 1 |
If you have some energy problems for some reason, replace Unsuspecting Strike with Jagged Strike
[edit] Equipment
- Any max armor, preferably one that gives you extra energy, such as Shrouded Armor. If you are not having energy problems, mix Radiant and Survivor Insignias on all armor, placing what you need most on the Chest and Legs.
- Zealous Daggers of Of Fortitude, such as Ceremonial Daggers or Everthorn's Chakrams
or if you want to take the damage to the limits..
- Sundering daggers of Fortitude, such as Ardeh's Daggers (taking this set is gonna do a decent amount of dmg but really your better off with zealous/Of Fortitude daggers.
[edit] Usage
- Select a target, preferabley one who is not moving and not touch range of anyone else.
- when you have come to an appropriate time to attack engage in this order. Burst of Aggression>Unsuspecting Strike>Fox Fangs>Horns of the Ox>Falling Spider>Twisting Fangs.
- Use Flourish to recharge skills.
- Attack any targets without engaging skills to regain energy via Critical Strikes.
- Make sure when Chaining every attack is followed by the next and there is no damage inbetween chaining the attack skill(s).
- You can chain without Burst of Aggression on foes without healing or monk support. (But its always funner not >:D )
[edit] Counters
- Blocks (i.e. Guardian, Whirling Defense, Protector's Defense)
- Blind (Condition)
- Interrupted skill (During Chain)(i.e. Clumbiness)
- Knockdown (During Chain) (i.e. Shock)
- Moving foe (i.e. Moving with his feet)
- Target is within touch Range of other Foe (During Chain)
[edit] Variants
- Flourish for Moebius Strike
- Flourish for Assassin's Promise (If you make this Change Please refer to the Assassins Promise note below)
- Fox Fangs for Wild Strike
- If you do not have Nightfall yet, you can use Tiger Stance rather then Burst of Aggression just to see what type of DPS it has in a scrimmage with a friend or in Great temple of bathazar against a dummy. BUT Burst of Aggression does have that extra second and only 12 recharge which is much needed.
- You can also use Flurry if u plan to go into Arenas with this build, although Flurry is a much weaker version with the only 25% IAS and less damage.
[edit] Notes
- This build works like a solo spike. You must prepare and make sure the full extent of this build is used when engaging with attacks.
- You have seven seconds before Burst of
Aggression is recharged in which time you can:
Flourish, hit foes for energy, or pick your next target.
- this chain takes down any health range from 1%-100% health.
- keep the skills in the order given to avoid confusion.
- Burst of Aggression has very limited time so don't use it until a fraction of a second before starting the chain.
- You must chain your skills with speed and in the right order for best use of the build (The chain can be completed in under 5 seconds with good practise)
- If you use Assassin's Promise rather then Flourish or Moebius Strike consider investing more points into Deadly Arts for more energy. The duration of Assassin's Promise lasts long enough for the expected death if you apply right before you begin the chain (the reason I don't use this is because using Assassin's Promise can indicate you're about to attack to the foe for which he can Kite or counter you)
- This build can very well deal the biggest DPS from any solo melee character in the game but the downside is that it can be easily countered with KD/interrupt, skill denial, nearby foes, moving foes.
- A build similiar to this was used During the Guild Wars Nightfall PvP Preview Event by numerous High Ranked Guilds. Their names trickle in my head but I will not name any because I have no certainty.
