The 60DP Assassin is a branch off of the 55 monk tree.
The biggest difference is that rather than using the Cities of
Ascalon Grim
Cesta, the 60DP uses, naturally, Death Penalty to get health
down to a minimum of 7.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
- Jagged Strike, Wild Strike, Death Blossom, and Moebius Strike
can all be replaced by any other damage source skills. If they are
not Dagger Mastery skills, adjust the attribute points
accordingly.
- A resurrect skill is not necessary if you are simply going to
solo farm. Try Healing Breeze instead.
[edit] Equipment
- Any Daggers, but the of Enchanting modification would be an
effective choice. No health bonuses.
- Your armour should be Shrouded, with exactly two Superior runes
and one Major rune. The Armour level does not matter, since if you
take a hit from even the lowest level enemies without Protective
Spirit on you will die. Festival hats can also be used, though
they won't give you any more energy.
Use this build primarily against melee attackers; life steal
will be your bane if you rush off into Necromancer infested territory(They will
often use degeneration, life stealing, or enchantment removal
skills on you). If you wouldn't use a 55 Monk, a 7 Health Assassin is not going to do
much better. Enter an area with a Resurrection Shrine. Get yourself
killed four times, so that you have -60 Death Penalty. When you
resurrect, cast Mending, and head off toward the mobs you intend to
kill. Before you aggro
them, cast Protective Spirit. Rush in, and attack them. Before
Protective Spirit wears off, recast it, and use a couple of your
damage skills. While in areas with higher level enemies, you may
gain enough experience to lose some of your Death Penalty. If this
happens, and you lose enough Death Penalty to die, the problem is
solved automatically.
[edit] Counters
[edit] Variants
- You can replace Jagged Strike, Wild Strike, Death Blossom,
Moebius Strike and Live Vicariously for various other favorite
skills. A strength of this build is flexibility, so just about
anything you want to include from the Assassin and Monk professions
can be included, but do not forget damage skills.
- Bring Healing Breeze if the enemies you fight inflict Bleeding or other
degeneration skills.
- You can also bring armour with 5 Major runes, but you will have
17 health rather than 7.
