[edit] Equipment

  • Armor

Any max armor will work, but radiant insignias may help with energy issues.

  • Weapons

Fiery dagger tangs are necessary, the handle is optional.

[edit] Usage

First step is to pick a target, anyone will do because conditions work well on anyone. Then cast rodgort and use death's charge to get in range. Now you just use black mantis to get them not to run, and then use temple strike to protect yourself. Now for energy use black lotus. Twisting fangs is to get those last conditions on for the kill. Use malicious for extra damage when you get the chance. If you notice that black lotus fades out, recast rodgorts, this is a way to tell when rodgorts ends.

[edit] Counters

General melee counters, and condition removal. Your worst enemy is a dervish using Avatar of Melandru.

[edit] Variants

If you do not need the ressurection, I find Viper's Defenses work well to protect yourself and to apply poison. You can cast this first then when you shadow step out of range you use Death's Charge to get back and use your chain.

[edit] Notes

The biggest advantage with this build is surprise, many people panic with all the conditions. This build would pair up well with a mesmer using fragility for a massive spike, maybe that mesmer could even stick in virulence to completely overwhelm healers.
