[edit] Build pages
I think the concept of a build section in this wiki is cool. However, the way it works today, and the way it is run (particularly by admins and admin wannabees), is utterly flawed. Today the build section fosters negativism. It lacks any mechanism whatsoever to assure that good builds really will float to the top and bad builds float to the bottom. Last, but not least, it has completely lost the descriptive part, as in describing the game called Guild Wars.
A build section should be like this:
- Sectioned into descriptive sections
- Archetype axe, sword etc. Warrior
- Archetype Smiting Monk, Helaer monk etc.
- Specialized builds like tanks, runners, farmers...
- The main idea being to describe builds in the context of describing Guild Wars, not being a flawed repository for arbitrary builds.
- Only positive votes count.
- The three builds in each category with most votes are
considered vetted
- This could be reset every once in a while + some other mechanisms to assure a fair competition.
- A feedback loop is assured.
- Survival of the fittest principle.
- Other builds that do not describe Guild Wars should be placed in an open category, if placed at all. Vetting has no place in this category, only popularity (how often it is used).
