This build is not favored by the
GuildWiki community.
The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this
build is not viable.
|
This build makes use of Mesmer resistance stances to provide a tanking effect. However, this Warrior build is limited mainly to predictable
PvE situations. Due to the
unpredictability of PvP, this
build is less effective there, but still can be used.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- The primary focus of this build is survivability and unleashing
damage.
- Before going into battle determine whether there are more spell casters or
physical
damage mobs (i.e. Warriors, Rangers, Assassins, etc.).
- If there are more spell casters present use Elemental
Resistance.
- If there are more physical damage mobs present use Physical Resistance.
- Attack and eliminate the mobs that are the opposite of the stance you used (i.e. if Elemental Resistance is
used attack the physical damage mobs and vice versa).
- If the adrenaline skills are not charged begin the attack with
Swift Chop.
- Also if the target is using a skill that allows it to block your attacks use Swift Chop
to deal damage.
- Since Whirling Axe has a requirement of only 2 strikes
of adrenaline it
can be used almost immediately after the initial attack.
- Another benefit of the 2 strikes of adrenaline requirement of
Whirling Axe is that this skill can be used very frequently.
- Penetrating Chop is the Factions equivalent to Penetrating
Blow in Prophecies and they both require 5 strikes of
adrenaline they both recharge at about the same time and can be
used in immediate succession.
- The ideal initial attack is the order as follows: Swift Chop,
Whirling Axe, Penetrating Blow/Penetrating Chop, Penetrating
Chop/Penetrating Blow
- Throughout the battle continue to maintain your stance.
- Always be wary of the situation and switch stances as the
situation requires.
[edit] Counters
[edit] Variants
- If the possibility of a 15 second recharge for Whirling Axe may be a hindrance,
it can be replaced with Cleave.
- Since Cleave requires 4 strikes of adrenaline instead of 2 like
Whirling Axe it is a better to take another attack that uses energy instead of adrenaline
because it will not recharge as quickly.
- Therefore, Penetrating Chop or Penetrating Blow should also be
replaced with a skill such as Power Attack.
- The addition of another energy using attack can help to counter
the effects of Sympathetic Visage, Ancestor's Visage, Soothing, and
Soothing Images.
- When fighting the Afflicted always maintain Elemental
Resistance.
- Since the Afflicted Soul Explosion deals cold damage it
falls under the category of elemental damage and the damage taken
is reduced.
- This allows one to defeat multiple Afflicted in succession
without worrying too much about the damage received by the
Afflicted Soul Explosion.
- The reason for the lack of Major or Superior Runes for the Axe Mastery and
Strength attributes is that this build requires higher health to increase its
survivability.
- If desired, the Minor Rune of Axe Mastery and Strength can be
switched for Major or Superior Runes of those attributes.
