The Enduring Scythe build is optimized for FoW farming but can be used elsewhere if modified. It utilizes the "Super Zealous Effect" of Warrior's Endurance with the high energy cost and triple attack of a scythe.

Sprint

  • Since "Shield's Up!" doesn't last tremendously long, it can be replaced with another healing skill such as Lion's Comfort or possibly Ressurection Signet if dual farming.

[edit] Equipment

  • Armor- Max Gladiator's Armor is best for the energy capacity for the attack skills. Also use a Sup Absorption and a vigor rune.
  • Weapons- Bring 3 weapon sets: a Zealous Scythe of Shelter, a one-handed weapon and shield both with armor mods, and a generic longbow/flatbow.

[edit] Usage

If you are new to farming the Fissure of Woe, first read the page on how to correctly farm the beach.

Once your team has spawned in the FoW, pull back to the wall and wait for the rest to join. Before running to the beach, pull up your 2nd weapon set (weapon and shield). Now begin your run to the beach, using Sprint and "Shield's Up!" until you have reached the first set of Snarling Driftwoods. It is time to pull up your first weapon set (scythe). Activate Warrior's Endurance and begin attacking the driftwoods. Spam Power Attack and Victorious Sweep as much as necessary until all 3 are dead. In some parts of the beach, there will be Ancient Scale patrols that will be impossible to kill. When encountering these, use your third weapon set (longbow) to pull the surrounding Snarling Driftwoods so that you may farm them.

Upon reaching the Armored Cave Spiders, be cautious of your health and Ancient Scales from before. Note that using a scythe will not allow the standard shield reliability to be counted on. However, the scythe allows a triple hit, just perfect for the groups of 3 Armored Cave Spiders that patrol. The key to effectively farming them lies in your ability to clump them together to hit atleast 2 at a time, maximizing damage and energy return. By attacking 2 or 3 at a time, Healing Spring is also interrupted more often than with a standard warrior build.

[edit] Counters

For FoW farming, there aren't any counters really except being outdamaged by Ancient Scales or the Armored Cave Spiders. Outside FoW, having your stance broken would prove aggrivating until you could activate it again. However, if it stays down continually, the build is highly inefficient. Blind is also worth watching out for.

[edit] Variants

Using Earth Prayers instead of Tactics is a possiblity but is highly complicated and nearly impossible due to the Doubter's Dryders' Shatter Enchantment, removing any healing enchantments and causing 100 damage. Further, with 3 Armored Cave Spiders using Savage Shot, the odds of getting off a spell of any cast time to speak of are highly unlikely.

[edit] Notes

Constant healing while farming the Armored Cave Spiders is required and sometimes leads to retreating after killing a spider or 2 in order to regain control of the situation at hand.
