The Fake Sin build is a Warrior build that uses daggers. The
Warrior's Strength attribute gives inherent armor penetration along
with energy management via Flourish. Damage is sacrificed for the
sake of quickness and survivability via the much higher armor
level.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Sentinel's Armor for survivability or if
energy is an issue (it shouldn't be), Gladiator's
Armor for energy
- Zealous Daggers of Fortitude 15>50
- Any non Zealous or Vampiric Daggers of Fortitude for when not
in battle (so you won't have -1 energy or health regeneration)
- Golden Lotus Strike has a damage boost and a conditional energy
gain if you are enchanted. Usually you will be enchanted by
protection monks.
- Fox Fangs is a non-block-able, non-evade-able offhand. It helps
you carry through your attack combination.
- Death Blossom is the core of the build's damage, with an area
of effect like Hundred Blades or Triple Chop
- Flourish recharges all attack skills. It also gains back 6
energy per skill recharged, which is a net gain of 3 energy since
all attacks you have are 5 energy.
- "Watch Yourself!" boosts your armor by 20 to compensate for
lack of a shield.
- Healing Signet is used only as a last resort heal, or in
between battles.
- Resurrection Signet should be used to resurrect fallen party
members when nobody has a reusable resurrection spell.
[edit] Optionals
- Wild Blow is used to break stances and is WAY more efficient
than Wild
Strike, especially on an energy based build (as opposed to an
adrenaline build)
- Distracting Blow is used to interrupt en masse. It is almost a
point blank "pause" button.
[edit] Counters
- Energy denial (a big one)
- blocking/evasion
- Anti-melee hexes
- Blind, weakness
[edit] Variants
- Disrupting Stab instead of Golden
Lotus Strike for more interruption.
- Exhausting Assault instead of Death Blossom for
more interruption.
- Warrior's Endurance with spammable 5
energy skills causes a net loss of 1 energy per skill (zealous =
one energy per hit, warrior's endurance = 3 energy per hit). Please
note that stance-breakers such as Wild Blow will end Warrior's
Endurance, which is why in the original build Flourish is
used.
- A major strength rune used to boost strength to 13 results in
-35HP, offset by the 30HP from the daggers. A net loss of 5 health
is the result (before Vigor runes).
- Assassins only have two recharge time related skills, Moebius Strike
and Assassin's Promise, which are conditional.
This was the motivation for a build like this.
- Forfeits Critical Strikes (For each rank of Critical Strikes
you have, you gain an additional 1% chance to critical hit. When an
attack is a critical hit you gain 1 Energy at 3 ranks and above, 2
Energy at 8 ranks and above, and 3 Energy at 13 ranks above)
