Image:Red thumbs down.png This build is not favored by the GuildWiki community.

The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this build is not viable.

This build was voted unfavored for the following reasons:

  • Slower than other solo and two-man farmers based around Earth or Smiting skills.

The E/Mo - Mo/Me or Emo Mom team build is a 2-player farming build designed to farm areas in the game which have no enchantment removing foes. The build is based on a 55health E/Mo or Invincimentalist doing all the tanking and dealing damage to the enemies around him, while the Mo/Me (or Mom) tends to the regular invincible monk spells with a small addition of a constant maintaining of Healing Seed, only on his partner instead of himself. Healing Seed gives healing every time the partner receives damage. With 32 health per hit, and every hit reduced to 5 damage, it is more than enough to prevent ALL damage, creating perfect tanking and no damage loss against regular damage. This build still needs testing, and if it works ideally, it should also work with up to 329 health on the elementalist, making it safer against health degeneration, but more risky if something happens to the monk and maintaining stops.

[edit] Build Concept

The general outline of how this team works is very similar to most other 55 Monk team builds, but with the Ele acting as the Monk:

  • The 55 ele attracts all aggro of the enemies. This includes the important step of taking melee attackers to spell casters and/or ranged attacker whenever possible to use AoE spells to kill as many foes simultaneously as possible. Solid piling of melee attackers on them are the keys to making this team build effective and successful.
  • The Mo/Me's job is to carefully maintain required enchantments on the Ele so he would not die, mostly Healing Seed and Protective Spirit.
  • The 55 ele's primary responsibility is to deal damage. If the ele has experience in both playing a 55 monk and/or a fire ele, it should be easier to understand. The ele's spells are single AoE spells that target enemies around the ele. He/She must be careful not to break aggro. See the notes on not casting in succession to avoid breaking aggro.

Usage:

  • You should cast Essence Bond at the beginning. Note that you will have 3 pips of energy regen but thanks to Succor casted by the monk you will have 4 pips of energy regeneration again. When you get hit you will receive more energy too.
  • Before a fight, cast Fire Attunement. This will save you 33% of spell costs.
  • In situations where there are no enemy mesmers, the approach is for the monk to put Protective Spirit and Healing Seed on and have the ele engage. With Healing Seed and Protective Spirit you should receive no damage at all, and even have healing every second. If the area which you farm in has energy degeneration you should cast healing breeze at the start of the fight or as soon as possible after receiving the degeneration.
  • The energy from Essence Bond should help you maintain a higher rate of spell casting, but you should still cast Glyph of Energy before Rodgort's Invocation to save energy.
  • Your main damage dealing spells are Fireball, Inferno, Rodgort's Invocation and Flame Burst. Do not cast these in succession to avoid breaking aggro. Simply wait 2 seconds between attacks (the Glyph of Energy casting time falls into this timespace).
  • Try to use spells on foes with the most enemies gathered around them to maximize damage.
  • If for some reason healing seed ends without being regenerated, cast healing breeze to keep yourself alive.
  • You should also cast healing breeze if you are still rounding up enemies while Healing Seed ended.

Equipment:

  • Your favorite fire ele rod.
  • The off-hand is not by choice in this build. It has to be the -50 off hand (see Cities of Ascalon).
  • Armor (AP doesn't matter) all with Superior Ele runes to achieve 105 health (before using the -50 Cesta).

Usage:

  • Patience and good timing are the most important aspects of success. Give the 55 ele room to operate and round up and gather aggro. The ele will need space to move. Following closely will only result in breaking up aggro and making fights longer, something that can endanger the ele in fights against mesmers/necromancers and also endanger yourself.
  • At the start of the run cast Blessed Aura on yourself and Essence Bond on the ele.
  • Before starting to aggro, cast Protective Spirit, Arcane Echo and Healing Seed in that order on the ele. If healing seed ends before he finished aggroing the ele should cast healing breeze on himself, and you cast both those spells again when he is done immediately. You should get the feel of when you need to recast Healing Seed on your partner. If you are still untrained, ask your partner to yell HB when it starts to flash (TS is also very helpful).

Equipment: Any monk staff or other preferable weapon with a 18% and up mod of Enchanting.
