After reading the discussion on the MM guide I wanted to give my opinions on the usefulness of the Vampiric Horror and the Minion Master in general. I have found this build to be very effective throughout the Factions and Prophecies campaigns and has very rarely failed me. It is ideal for farming areas of fleshy creatures and its focus on melee minions means you can stay safe from the battle behind your wall of bone. Once you amass a sufficient amount of Vampiric Horrors it is fairly simple to stay alive and deal large amounts of damage while constantly spamming Blood of the Master. The focus of this build is to maximize the Vampires to maximize your healing which in turn allows you to spam BotM non-stop.

[edit] Usage
This build should stay away from the fighting for most of the duration of the battle and should not take too much damage if it is played correctly.
Begin each battle by hitting the nearest vulnerable target with Rotting Flesh to soften them up for your teammates and to accelerate your first corpse. I also like to use Shadow of Fear on any tanks or rangers who are making nuisances of themselves throughout the battle, since its duration is so long for such a small skill investment. Once the first body drops you should immediately cast Animate Flesh Golem. Animating Vampiric Horrors should always be your first priority, but do not be afraid to raise Bone Horrors as well. Once you have animated several Vampiric Horrors you should be able to begin spamming Blood of the Master quite often as you will be being constantly healed as long as your horrors are in combat. With 9 Vampiric Horrors on the field at once you can cast BotM almost without fear.
Once you have reached the maximum number of minions you should try to minimize the number of Bone Horrors you animate and prioritize the Vampiric Horrors. You should feel free to use Taste of Death on your Bone Horrors to make room for Vampiric Horrors instead of leaving it up to the game to automatically replace your oldest minion.
If you are waiting for your Vampiric Horror to recharge and there is a fresh corpse on the ground waiting to be raised you should cast a fresh Flesh Golem instead of wasting a slot on a puny Bone Horror. With such a high score in Soul Reaping you will receive +15 energy for every new minion you cast with your limit maxed because in order for a new minion to animate one must die to make room. This makes for very inexpensive Vampiric Horrors as well as making for FREE Bone Horrors and Flesh Golems. This build has very little concern for energy once its army has reached critical mass.
[edit] Tips / Tricks / Variations
Of course having your corpses stolen will be detrimental to your army's progress. If you know you are going to be going up against corpse-exploiting monsters I would recomment swapping Rotting Flesh for another corpse-exploiting spell with a low casting time like Putrid Explosion. Standard operating procedure for a minion master should always be to animate as many corpses as possible as quickly as possible, so unless all of this build's animation skills are currently being recharged you shouldn't have too many problems beating the necros to the punch with dual 20% HCT and Bloodstained Boots.
Non-fleshy creatures will stop this build in its tracks very quickly. My best recommendation is to spam Shadow of Fear to assist the rest of your team as best you can while waiting for some flesh to fall.
[edit] Counters
Corpse Denial can harm this build. AoE damage focused on your minions could harm your numbers making you vulnerable to an attack. Non-Fleshy creatures can shut down this build because of the lack of exploitable Corpses (Undead for example.)
