This Minion Master is designed for the Competitive
Missions and Alliance Battles. It is also easily adapted
for PvE.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Bloodstained Boots are a must.
- Weapons that halve skill recharge and cast times of Death Magic spells are recommended.
- Superior Death Magic runes are not recommended against because the higher
levels minions provided are not worth the decreased health.
- Try to avoid Necrotic and Tormentor's
Armor because of their weakness to holy damage (smiters are common in Competitive
Missions).
- If you add self-healing to the build, such as Taste of Death,
the max health lost to a Superior Rune of Death Magic is not as
severe (though still a threat), especially if you have an item set
or staff with +60 health.
This build works best from the Luxon side in Fort Aspenwood, as it builds up a small squad
of NPC assistance, and the
minions are best used offensively, because they are
short-lived.
- Use Deathly
Swarm when not raising and maintaining your minion army.
- Use Malign Intervention on a Kurzick
Mine Cleanser (in Fort Aspenwood) for best results. After a
small burst of damage kills the NPC, the animated Bone Horror provided by
Malign Intervention will kill the
remaining Kurzick Mine Cleanser, and the Luxon
defenders who immediately spawn should make short work of the
masterless undead.
- Malign Intervention also greatly assists
any efforts to kill a single, called-out target.
- Animate a Flesh Golem at the earliest opportunity,
and Bone Fiends when more corpses become
available.
- Use Blood of the Master to keep them
alive.
- When it is nearly dead, turn your Golem into a bomb with Death Nova.
- Use Verata's Aura to gain control of masterless
minions. Verata's Aura can be used by both Kurzicks and Luxons. This is an important skill both to both reclaim
your minions if you happen to die, and to steal your opponent
minion master's minions if he is killed. Keep in mind that if you
claim more minions than your minion limit, then the oldest minions
will die to make room. This can be used offensively to thin a huge
minion herd.
- Use Gaze of Contempt as your primary enchantment removal.
Use it on Master Architect Gunther to remove
protections cast on him in preparation for spike damage. You may
then follow up with Malign Intervention, which will put extra
pressure on protective monks, since Enchantment-based healing monks are popular
in these competitive missions.
- If you are having trouble staying alive, Taste of Death
can replace Malign Intervention for a few attempts.
Sometimes there are builds on the Kurzick side made to counter minion masters, and
self-healing may be necessary.
