[edit] Introduction
This build revolves around tactical life-stealing hexes and the occassional damage spike through a sword attack-blood spike hybrid.

Attribute Rank |

Blood Magic | 12 + 1 + 1 |
Swordsmanship | 12 |
Soul Reaping | 6 + 1 |
- With relatively low armor, it is vital to cast Life Siphon on at least three foes before engaging. This will ensure a considerably large amount of health regeneration, as well removing some HP from future victims
- Life Transfer has a noteably high recharge time, so only cast it on your intended target
- Your sword skills are merely intended to inflict extra damage upon a target while their health slowly withers away
- Use Unholy Feast as an emergency-heal, or to finish off nearby weak foes
[edit] Gear
- Shadowknights should equip a sword that deals added damage to hexed foes to maximize your damage output and has either a Defense/Shelter pommel, or one of Enchanting(to maximize the length of Awaken the Blood)
- Carry a Blood Magic offhand that enhances the recharge/casting time of Blood Magic skills
- Have a Tormentor's/Necrotic tunic and leggings, at least, to improve your naturally low armor. Going pure-Tormentor's/Necrotic is viable, but you'll lose the defense against piercing damage(bows and daggers), as well leaving yourself very vulnerable to Holy damage
[edit] Usage
- A Shadowknight should cast Life Siphon on multiple targets
prior to melee combat, and here's the usual casting order:
- Awaken the Blood
- Life Siphon(on at least three foes)
- Life Transfer(target)
- Seeking Blade
- Vampiric Touch
- Life Siphon(renewal)
- If executed properly, you'll have at least +9 health regeneration, regardless of Poison or Disease, which makes this a very good build for engaging multiple foes
[edit] Countering
- As this build relies upon Blood Magic hexes, hex removal skills such as Contemplation of Purity will frustrate any Shadowknight
- Knockdown skills can be used to leave a Shadowknight without casting time and wide open to attacks
- Slow-downs, health regeneration, and crippling will NOT stop a Shadowknight, as one cannot "run" from health degeneration, and with an unbelievable amount of health regeneration, the Shadowknight is not vulnerable to your degens
[edit] Notes
The Shadowknight requires quite of a bit of skill to play, but with the right strategy, a Shadowknight can be a useful addition to any team(in PvP or PvE)
Your opponent may underestimate you due to your "exotic" build--use this to your advantage
