This is the single most intense melee-hate/shutdown build available right now in Guild Wars.

Power Drain should be likely be used in place of channeling in TA, however channeling should be used in HA and elsewhere.
[edit] Equipment
- Tormentors on hands feet and face, radiant on chest, survivor's on legs. Superior or Major vigor is required.
- 1 handed staff with 20% recharge and 20% casting time of skills of curses
- off-hand with 20% recharge and 20% casting time of skills of curses
- secondary weaponset: 1 handed staff with 20% recharge and 20% casting time of skills of inspiration with 20/20 offhand for inspiration.
- Rune of Vigor (superior being preferred)
- 2 runes of Attunement
[edit] Usage
- Maintain Channeling.
- Start off with Spiteful Spirit>Reckless Haste>Price of Failure>Parasitic Bond on the closest melee'r
- Scroll to the next target using tab or the "]" key, and cast parastic bond - this will (most likely) ensure 120 HP about every 5 seconds after the first 20 second gap is closed, as parasitic bond heals you after 20 seconds.
- Continue, Casting Spiteful Spirit when it is charged, and cast parasitic bond right after it to "cover" it incase of hex removal.
- When Price of Failure, Spirit of Failure, and Reckless Haste are recharged, be sure to cast them on a melee'r and cover them with parastic bond.
- If you only have five energy (first cast channeling) then cast ether phantom on someone.
- Note: you get a 71% chance miss ratio (of them missing 71% of the time) with all three "miss" spells on them and if reckless haste is casted first.
[edit] Variant
- Using Signet of Midnight rather than Spiteful Spirit to make enemies miss and trigger price of failure more often while protecting the player even more.
- Using Diversion in place of backfire to disable an ememy's ability to use skills, this also works on attack skills and not just "Spells."
- Using Wastrel's Worry or Parasitic Bond to pressure the target and to cover the more important hexes.
[edit] Usage
- Cast Price of Failure, Reckless Haste, Empathy, Life Siphon, and Diversion on any melee enemy
- Cast Signet of Midnight to make target blind
- Cast Wastrel's Worry to deal damage
[edit] Counters
- Hex removal
[edit] Notes
- Reckless Haste increases attack speed to increase damage from the other hexes and is therefore very important.
- To optimize the damage output of Spiteful Spirit, try to get enemies to clump together.
- With the first build, the enemy will take 80 damage every time they attack.
- For a list of how fast each type of enemy will attack, see Attack speed.
