This build is designed to play the role of the gatekeeper on the
Kurzick side of the Competitive mission Fort Aspenwood.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Axe or Sword with +5 energy and 20% enchanting mod, along with
a 20/20 Healing offhand.
- As the match begins, you should take the teleporter and run to
outermost purple or orange gate. standing behind the gate, you
should cast Life
Bond, Life
Barrier, and Essence Bond on a gate NPC of your choice. A Kurzick Elementalist is recommended
because they have wards and other skills to help keep them
alive.
- Use Dwayna's Kiss as your main heal, with the three
enchantments on the NPC, it heals for quite a bit.
- Cast Healing
Seed on the NPC as he comes under pressure
- If the Innermost gate on the other side falls, retreat to the
Green Gate.
- Use Blessed Signet to gain energy as needed.
[edit] Variants
- Healing
Touch Is a good alternative to Heal Area. However, using it on
yourself will require you to deselect the NPC you are bonding,
which could lead to some problems.
- Watchful Spirit may be used in order to cover
the other enchants, and give you a cheap heal if you remove
it.
- Balthazar's Spirit may be used in place of
Essence Bond, but you will have to cast it on yourself instead of
the NPC. However, this will decrease your healing potential, as
Essence Bond triggers Dwaynas Kiss conditional heal.
- Healing
Breeze is a good choice for the optional slot, to counter
degen.
- Convert
Hexes works well here, fully cleansing your target of hexes and
giving your target additional armor if you remove Necromancer
hexes.
- Protective Bond works great here, with only a
net loss of two energy when your target takes more than 5% of its
life (which with both Life Barrier and Life Bond isn't going to
happen a lot) this effectively reduces dmg to about 25 IF
your target has 500 hp.
- Life
Attunement is a good option, as it increases your healing from
Dwaynas Kiss.
- Shield of Absorption is a good option,
as the target gets several times each second, and it can lower the
damage your target takes.
[edit] Counters
- Nature's Renewal is particularly effective
at taking this build down.
- Any full enchantment removers can cause this build to have to
re-apply all of the enchantments, during which time the target may
get killed.
- Well of the Profane can prevent the use
of this build.
- Touch Rangers use skills that ignore your damage reductions and
don't give you energy, which is dangerous for you
- Primal
Echoes causes energy problems due to this build's dependence on
Blessed Signet.
