This build is designed to work in synergy with another healer monk. The fast casting time of shield of deflection enables this build to counter/ save spikes as it provides a decent boost of armour and high success rate of blocking attacks. However, if used right, this build can also keep a team alive in RA on its own.

To survive a spike metagame, you'll need health, and lots of it.

• Head Armour -> Radiant Insignia, Minor Protection Prayers
• Chest Armour -> Superior Vigour, Survivor Insignia
• Hand Armour -> Radiant Insignia, Minor Divine Favour
• Leg Armour -> Radiant Insignia, Minor Healing Prayers
• Feet Armour -> Survivor Insignia, Rune of Attunement

• +ve Energy Set - Spear with + 30 health mod and +5 energy inscription \ Protection Ankh +30 health mod and 1/2 recharge

• -ve Energy Set - Spear with +30 health mod and -5 energy inscription \ Shield +10 armour vs slashing dmg +30 health

You can also have other sets that carry different types of +10 armour

[edit] Usage

The aim of the game isn't to spam Shield of deflection, only use it when you are just about to be spiked or going to save a spike. E.g. if you suddenly get a siphon speed on you, use it , or if you get expose defenses on you, use the 1 second aftercast time to quickly cast veil on you so that if they SP you, you can still block with SoD. Even if you don't block, the +al can be useful.

Your main skills are really RoF, GoH, soa and signet of devotion. Use deadly riposte to stop assassin chains or to block annoying melee attacks such as crushing blow etc.
