The Glyph of Nightmares is used to pressure and kill anyone you may encounter in the alliance battles and PvE. It uses massive degeneration illusion magic skills as well as the elementalist's ability to lessen the energy burden through glyphs. Inspired by the necromancers and druids of Everquest, this build utilizes snares and damage over time to kill while keeping the enemy at bay.

Illusion Magic | 12 + 1 + 2 |

- Imagined Burden can be replaced with Inspired Hex for hex removal and even greater energy management.
[edit] Equipment
- Enchanter's Armor for the energy modification is recommended although when used correctly, energy is not an issue for this powerful build.
- An Insightful Jeweled Staff of Fortitude with 20% HCT and 20% HSR illusion spells.
- As a secondary weapon set you can have a 15e -1 wand and focus item for hidden energy in those deperate moments.
[edit] Usage
This build can be used to pressure a number of enemies or kill a single target.
- Start by finding a troublesome foe and casting Ethereal Burden on them.
- Follow with Glyph of Energy and Conjure Nightmare
- Follow with conjure phantasm.
- If glyph of energy is not available use glyph of lesser energy followed by conjure nightmare.
- At this point your target will be struggling to heal himself. Ethereal Burden will be wearing off shortly to reward you with 22 energy.
- If degen counters such as healing breeze are used, use your drain enchantment spell.
- At any time reapply Conjure Nightmare, which is the key to this build.
- If your target is a ranger or melee type who is attacking, use Clumsiness to take a nice chunk out of him and get him on the defensive.
- If at any time your target runs away from you, use Imagined Burden for a lengthy snare.
[edit] Counters
- Interrupts
- Energy denial
- Fast hex removal (See Divert Hexes)
[edit] Variants
This build can be used in most arenas by replacing Imagined/Ethereal Burden with a Resurrection Signet. I would recommend replacing Imagined Burden, if any, because Ethereal Burden's energy payoff is key to energy management.
[edit] Notes
If recharged, Casting Ethereal Burden on a nearly dead enemy can have great energy payoffs. However, it is recommended to have at least one of your snares at the ready or nearly recharged at all times.
