This build is not favored by the
GuildWiki community.
The general consensus among users of GuildWiki is that this
build is not viable.
This build was voted unfavored for the following reasons:
- energy management difficult
- no cover enchant for IW
- less damage than other IW builds
|
This build is intended for PvP/AB. It is based on the classical
Illusionary Weaponry (IW) builds Me/W or
Me/N. The difference is that it uses some of the Assassin's Shadow Arts skills for
shadow-stepping and self-healing.
[edit] Attributes and Skills
[edit] Equipment
- Suggested armor pieces (combine between the two according to
your preference):
- Enchanter's Armor - For better energy.
- Charlatan's Armor - Since you will be
enchanted all the time.
[edit] Weapons
- Daggers with +5 energy and +20% longer enchantments (all other
mods are irrelevant since you are not going to actually hit with
your attacks).
- The green Arius' Sai can be used, or any +5 energy daggers
with a +20% longer enchantments.
- Using daggers makes you attack faster and have a chance of
double-striking. Since you will miss with all attacks, but do 42
armor-ignoring damage every time you attack, daggers will give you
a higher DPS. Note that you are immune to conditions like blind,
etc since your attacks miss anyway!
- The 20% longer enchantments will allow you to have IW on at all
times.
- Illusion of Weakness should also be kept on at all times.
- Start by casting Illusion of Weakness, followed by 2xShadow
Refuge to heal up before the battle starts.
- As you enter the battle cast Shadow of Haste at a safe
spot.
- Then cast IW, pick a target, cast Conjure Nightmare on it and
attack (you can optionally shadow-step to it using Death's
Charge).
- At this point your target will have 8 health degeneration + you
deal an average of 42+ armor-ignoring damage per second.
- If you get hit by degeneration use Shadow Refuge.
- Illusion of Weakness will kick in if you get hit badly. Recast
as needed (but not when fighting or when your health is low, as it
will take 50% of your total health - i.e. you may die
instantly).
- If you get in big trouble (i.e. surrounded, attacked by
multiple foes) cast Distortion. Since this will end Shadow of
Haste, you will be instantly teleported to the safe spot where you
cast Shadow of Haste last. Heal up, recast enchantments, and go
again.
- Distortion can also be use as defense in combat (in which case
you will use Dark Escape to exit a hairy situation, and you could
replace Shadow of Haste with someting else - see Variants).
- This build is meant to kill quickly and get out, similar to the
assassin. Unlike the assassin, however, it has armor ignoring
damage, and ignores foe stances, ignores protection spells such as
Aegis. Also you do not need points in Dagger Mastery and Critical
Strikes.
- It is very efficient against most isolated foes, including
warriors and casters.
[edit] Counters
- Spiteful Spirit/Empathy or similar are very effective against
this build - as you attack very fast. If you get hexed with one of
these you have to run or remove the hex.
- Also effective are enchantment removal builds - without the IW
you will do basically no damage.
- Usual anti-warrior builds based on blind/skill block or similar
are not effective against this build.
[edit] Variants
The key skills are Illusionary Weaponry, Illusion
of Weakness, Shadow Refuge, Distortion, and either or Shadow of Haste
or Dark Escape.
You have two optional slots: Conjure Nightmare and either Dark
Escape or Shadow of Haste. One or both of the optional slots can be
replaced with an interrupt and or energy management (in which case
you will need to place some points into Inspiration or Domination). A more anti-caster oriented
build would use Power Drain + Leech Signet (with 7 in Inspiration and only 11
in Shadow Arts) and Cry of Frustration + Power Leak (with 7 in
Domination and only 11 in Shadow Arts). You can also take Shatter
Enchantment and Shatter Hex (With Domination 7) to get rid of
some hexes and prevent target from using enchantments.
